Managing Director / Executive Producer
As Managing Director and Executive Producer, Ira founded Matavia in 2005, following 9 years of service as a Content Development and Business Affairs Manager with Malaysia's leading international satellite Pay-TV operator, ASTRO.
Since Matavia's inception, Ira has built and guided a team of dedicated producers and editors to ensure a constant delivery of high quality content to both local and international networks, as well as inspiring them to continuously break new grounds in content creation. In addition, Matavia is regularly chosen by both government and other independent agencies to supervise and produce co-pro content for notable international broadcasters such as National Geographic and Discovery Channel.
Production Manager
With experiences in the various forms of media, Jasmin has overseen many of the company's production with her extensive working knowledge of the multiple platforms.
She began her broadcasting career as a Content Editor for the Interactive Division of Airtime Management & Programming (ASTRO Radio) in Malaysia and worked abroad in Switzerland for Reihe13 where she was able to specialise in media management for events, design and publishing.
With over 10 years of production managing experience, Jasmin ensures proper organisation and that all production timelines at Matavia are met efficiently and produced with the highest quality.
Scriptwriter
Alan is an experienced scriptwriter who has worked on a few documentary productions for Discovery Channel. His past experience includes writing articles for The Diplomat (Australia’s premier magazine specializing in current and foreign affairs) and Lonely Planet guides. He has also worked as a field producer and coordinator for a whole host of international documentary films and news features for BBC TV (UK), ABC TV (AU), SBS TV (AU), ABC TV (USA) and NatGeo.
Head of Production
Reduan began his video photography career with local broadcasters such as Media Prima and ASTRO. He then went on to further develop his skills in factual programming following stints with international broadcasters such as Discovery Channel, NatGeo, BBC, and Al-Jazeera. Armed with a flair for capturing moments that tell a story, Reduan leads a young and talented camera and sound crew at Matavia.
Head of Post-Production
With over 18 years of experience under his belt, Yap is a sought after Post Production Editor who has raked up an impressive portfolio of clients and documentaries for a few notable international broadcasters such as BBC Network, Discovery Channel, The Crime and Investigation Network, and The History Channel. Combined with a solid technical know-how on video editing, Yap maintains a team of video editing professionals who strive in producing quality online and offline content at Matavia.

With the combination of nature and the various heritage and cultural customs found within the many ethnic groups in the states, Borneo has become a must-visit destination for many. This 13-episode documentary series will showcase the involvement of aspiring young individuals who are engaged in fields related to the beautiful art, culture and heritage of Malaysia.
Following the success of the 7-Part half-hour wildlife series, “Wildlife Defenders Malaysia” will take us deeper into the world’s most ancient rainforests; deeper into the multi-faceted roles and lives of the men and women behind Perhilitan, the Wildlife Department of Peninsular Malaysia as they relentless battle to save our fragile Malaysian Wildlife.
Malaysia is one of the countries active in providing humanitarian assistance around the world. NGOs in Malaysia are willing to take risks by channeling aid into troubled countries such as Syria to ensure that the supply of food and medicines can be delivered safely. This travelog follows the journey of a big-hearted young Malaysian man named Musa Nuwayri who is an active humanitarian aid, helping Syrian refugees not only in Malaysia but in other parts of the world.

TV host and actor Henry Golding, is on a personal mission to discover his tribal roots. A descendant of the once feared Iban tribe of Sarawak, Borneo, Henry wants to attain his ‘Bejalai’, an Iban rites of passage, before he marries. In accordance with the ancient ‘Bejalai’, Henry must journey to unfamiliar lands in a bid to challenge himself and to acquire new knowledge and skills. A journey which takes him from his own Iban homeland in Betong to the mountainous region of Bario home to the Kelabit Tribe, and finally into the deepest interiors of Sarawak to seek out the mysterious Penans, Borneo’s last remaining nomadic tribe.
